THE STORY BEHIND THE SONGS
BY COMPOSER BONNIE MOORE
God has a plan for each person which begins with a Word from Him. Ephesians 2:10; Luke 3:2. One word from God can change your whole life. It did mine. The Word of the LORD is living and active. It is spirit and life. It gives power and impartation. It is anointed.
In 2008, I went for the first time to the West Coast Believers Convention in Long Beach, California. During the convention, the evening of July 2, 2008, after Phil Driscoll had ministered his music, Kenneth Copeland asked all those present who had any musical abilities to stand. At first, I did not, but he said there were someone who should be standing that was not, I wondered if he could mean me, so I stood. Kenneth Copeland then began a prophecy over us. He said that there were songs in Heaven that God wanted composed on the earth and they were now released, and as he pointed out over the crowd, he shouted “through you.” I laughed because I had never composed any music so I did not think he meant me. I am a lawyer, practicing law in Honolulu, Hawaii, and I have also practiced law in New York and California. I also have teaching credentials and have taught High School mathematics (my BA is in mathematics). Many years ago, I danced with the New York City Ballet and was asked to join the Royal Ballet of England. I am president and founder of Marana tha Ministries (http://maranathaministrieshawaii.org), participate in prison ministry, teach adult and children Bible classes, have a TV show that airs locally in Hawaii where I live called “Good News for You,” and run a women’s ministry called “Most Beautiful Among Women” (www.mbaw.info), which title is taken from Song of Songs 6:1.
The next morning, to my surprise, I awoke singing the words and music that became my first song, “Word Song.” Each day, at all different times mostly as I was going about the day’s business, the LORD God would sing more songs in my spirit. I began to ask Him what He was doing at various times as I drove the car or walked across a parking lot, and He would reply that He was singing. I would ask what He was singing and He would sing songs in my spirit, words and music. Zephaniah 3:17 is true that says He sings songs over us. We have only to listen as He opens the windows of Heaven. But we must join in and sing the new song back unto Him. And His Word does not return to Him void when we return it with faith.
At first the songs were for us to sing to Him declaring who we are in Christ and proclaiming His Word and His promises over our lives, songs of praise and worship. But then He began singing more and more songs where He was singing to us. The stars sang at creation, Job 38:7, but so did He. He has sung us love songs since the creation of the world, and we find His greatest song to us is a love song, Song of Songs. And now He wants to sing His Word to the world to heal and deliver, and to draw all people to Himself, who is Love and Light, so they may know Him as He truly is, lover and friend (Song of Songs 5:16) and that He wants to make each person’s life beautiful, the most beautiful life ever lived.
I would sing the songs into a recorder each time I heard one in my heart and then notate them down. Soon I thought I should have them recorded and hence I gathered a group of amazing and talented professional singers and musicians and the recording began. As we went along, new songs kept coming until there was a collection of six CDs. I called the collection, “Wonderful Songs” for the Wonderful Counselor, the Holy Spirit, and the voice of the dove is heard in our land. The six collections of Wonderful Songs take us on a journey through our creation and salvation story from Genesis to Revelation. Beginning with “Creation Collection, A New Creation in Christ;” continuing to the Patriarchs, Psalms, and Prophets in the “Israeli Collection, Jerusalem Rose;” then celebrating our everlasting Covenant of Love with God now sealed in the Blood of Christ in “Covenant Collection, Everlasting Love,” next, longing for and celebrating the victory of His second coming with the “Marana tha Collection, Come Lord Jesus!” then we head into eternity with “Praise and Worship Collection, Keys to the Kingdom,” and we finish (as we really began and traveled all the way through the journey) in the Hands of God as He sings to us about who He is to us and who we are to Him in “The LORD God Collection: I AM.” I designed the covers for the CD and keepsake box as I would sit down with a notepad and ask the LORD to show me what He had in mind.
New songs keep coming, for the LORD loves a new song, and the newest collection that I have out is the “Loving Eyes Collection.” His loving eyes are resting on you, for good and not for evil, for a future and a hope! It is filled with amazing songs from the heart of God to your heart. And I have many new songs since then that our music team played at our last Workshop for our women’s ministry, “Most Beautiful Among Women.” Song of Songs 6:1-3.
The LORD gave me a lovely song about Ruth, one about Judah (which turned into the song for the music video “Yehudah, the Song Born in Praise,” which also has a voice over done by the great Wintley Phipps, and this short film, for which I wrote the original song and the script, won Best Short Film and Most Inspirational Short Film at the 2016 International Christian Film Festival held at Orlando, Florida), and one about Esther, which was sung at the International Women’s Symposium at Magdala (the recently unearthed archaeological site of the town of Mary Magdalene) in Israel this year. The songs about Ruth and Judah (Yehudah) are both on the Loving Eyes Collection.
And I believe each of us can find ourselves somewhere in Scripture, myself included. As I sat in church waiting for the service one day, God took me to 1 Chronicles 25:28. I read that line and wondered at first what it was all about. It says that the “twenty-first fell to Hothir, his sons, and his brethren, twelve.” I went back to see what this twenty-first was about. It was about the three Levites, Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun, and their descendants, who were instructed in the songs of the LORD for service in the House of God whom David, as king of Israel, had stationed before the Ark of the Covenant to sing praise and prophesy to the accompaniment of musical instruments 24/7 before the LORD. 1 Chronicles 25:6. And “they cast lots for their duty, the small as well as the great, the teacher with the student.” 1 Chronicles 25:8. And the 21st lot fell to Hothir (a son of Heman). Hothir’s name means “excellence that remains.” I realized that this is the 21st century and I then perceived that the LORD God was confirming to me that He had instructed me in the Songs of the LORD for service in His House for the 21st century! The Word is living and active and has many applications down the centuries and is not limited to its original time and place. It is always for today. God confirms things to us by His Word.
So that is why this website is called the 21st Lot. These are the Songs of the LORD for the 21st century. These songs are a visitation of the Lord revealing His Heart in song to draw all men to Himself in preparation for His second coming. The windows of Heaven have opened and the songs of the Lord are heard in our land. In them we are raised up to touch the Holy and the LORD God comes down to touch us. They reveal who He is to us and who we are to Him. They are intimate—deep calling unto deep, Spirit to spirit. They are wonderful songs, songs like none that have ever been written. There are songs of Creation, songs of the Patriarchs, Psalms, and Prophets, songs of Covenant and blessing, songs of victory and righteousness, songs of redemption and healing, songs of love and mercy, songs of jubilee and restoration, songs of gathering and harvest, songs of rapture and renewal, songs of His return and songs of Heaven. These are songs of the Spirit, songs of the Father Himself. They are sung by God, about Himself and about us. There is a tremendous move of God in these songs.
God has given me the privilege to touch the holy– the living active Word of God! These songs are all Him and they contain nothing but His Word as you find it in Scripture. You can locate a Scripture reference in the Bible for every line in these songs. These references are in the insert booklets in each CD (each of the six CDs has a twelve page insert booklet). And these songs have given me so much joy and intimacy with Him that are so precious! And they will do this for you too.
People in general do not know God– I mean how sweet and wonderful He is and how wondrous and beautiful He wants to make each person’s life. Every promise, every Covenant Name revealed by God, has a song in these Collections so that promise of healing, provision, righteousness and peace can be fulfilled in people’s lives. These songs enable people to speak, sing, and address one another in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs as God has directed us to do. Ephesians 5:19. These songs pull back the veil that veils all people that the Lord talked about in Isaiah and bring people to the Lord’s mountain to meet Him in a wedding feast of rich fare and fine wine. Isaiah 25:6-7. These songs teach us how forgiven, loved, and blessed we are in Christ and help us to confidently approach the throne of grace and receive all we need just when we need it. For in Christ all God’s magnificent promises of healing, provision, blessing, protection, deliverance, and peace are “yes.” Just open your heart and receive. You are forgiven, beloved, favored, healed and blessed.
Then David spoke to the chiefs of the Levites to appoint their relatives the singers,
with instruments of music, harps, lyres, loud-sounding cymbals, to raise sounds of joy.
1 Chronicles 15:16.
